The Star Naming Co.

4 November 2026

The Star Naming Co. is the star-naming gift brand of Crowther Creative Products. Name a real star. A heartfelt gift they’ll cherish forever. You choose a real, catalogued star, give it a name and a dedication, and send it as a digital gift that arrives within minutes or as a printed gift pack posted free in the UK.

What do you get?

Every star comes with five personalised A4 documents and its own star page online:

1. Certificate of Star Naming: the name, the dedication, the registry number and the star’s coordinates, with the register seal.
2. Star coordinates sheet and sky chart: right ascension and declination, so the star can be found in a stargazing app or telescope, and a chart marking it in its constellation.
3. The story of the constellation: its myth, and how to find it in the sky.
4. Sealed extract from the register: the formal entry the star occupies.
5. Personalised welcome letter: to give with the others.

In the Physical Gift Pack the documents are printed on fine cream stock. With the digital gift you print them at home, and you can reprint at home, free, for life.

Which gifts are there?

• Digital Gift Pack: emailed within minutes, five documents to print at home and an e-gift reveal to send.
• Physical Gift Pack: the five documents printed on fine cream stock, posted free in the UK.
• Twin Star Gift Pack: two neighbouring stars in the same constellation, named together on one landscape certificate.

How does it work?

1. Choose a constellation, or let the occasion choose one (a birth sign, a favourite season).
2. Enter the name and a short dedication.
3. Pick digital or printed. Each star in our register can only be named once.

Your star is named for eternity on our database, and you can verify it at any time on its star page.
